Cynthia Villalvazo represents Kansas City and the Central Zone on the 2012-2013 State Farm Youth Advisory Board.
She comes from a Hispanic background and fluently speaks Spanish. Cynthia is majoring in biology and pre-dentistry in hopes to fulfill her dream of becoming a dentist. Her interest in the wold of science has prompted her to be a founding member and Vice President of Public Relations to the Pre-Professional Mathematics and Science Club at Kansas City Kansas Community College, where she is a currently a freshman.
She is an active student and participates in a number of organizations. Inspired to achieve
academic excellence has caused her to become a member of Phi Theta Kappa International Honors Society that motivates students to be leaders and promotes service to the community.
She embraces her roots through her membership to the Student Organization of Latinos and The International Student Organization which focus on sharing unique cultural experiences with others. Her devotion to service learning continues to grow while being involved with Latinos of Tomorrow (LOTs), a non-profit organization that guides Hispanic and foreign born students through the process of receiving a higher education. It’s mission is to provide leadership training and opportunities through educational achievement, career development and civic involvement. She is a product of this program and now serves in the Leadership Team to help others accomplish their goals.
Cynthia was selected to represent her community and country worldwide as a People to People Student Ambassador. She was given the opportunity to promote world peace while traveling to England, France, and Italy and took part in community service events in small cities.
She credits her accomplishments and knowledge of opportunities to God, LOTs, her mentors, and family support.
Cynthia is passionate about letting her peers know about the world of opportunities available to through education. In addition to service-learning, her interests include make-up artistry, fashion, reading, traveling, listening to music, and spending time with family.
