Youth driven community garden that unites the school and its neighbours by encouraging understanding of environmental responsibility and sustainable living.  Youth initiated, youth designed, and youth led within the framework of an ‘Introduction to Sustainable Agriculture: Grant Community Garden’ elective courses.  An initiative that marks an important collaboration between Portland Public Schools, Portland Community Gardens and local businesses.

Grant High School Community Garden will:

Provide members of the school and the local community with healthy, nutritious, organic produce
Educate an entire community on the importance of sustainable agriculture practices
Reduce the ecological footprint of each community garden member
Enhance the natural beauty to the area
